The difficulty setting controls which directions are used and how "deceptively" filler letters are chosen. On Hard mode, filler letters are selected from the starting letters of your words to create convincing false leads.

You can add up to 50 words per puzzle. For a 15×15 grid, we recommend 10–20 words. Larger grids (20×20 or 25×25) support more words without crowding. Words that can't fit are listed in the "not placed" section of the word placements panel.
Yes! Click the "🖨 Print" button to print the puzzle only — with all hidden words and a word list at the bottom, but without any answer highlighting. Use "🗝 + Key" to print a second version with answers highlighted for use as a teacher's answer key.
The generator will attempt to place each word up to 200 times in different positions and directions. If a word still can't fit, it's listed as "not placed" in the placements panel. Try increasing the grid size or reducing the number of long words.
Yes. The generator is fully mobile-responsive. On smaller screens, the grid scrolls horizontally. Printing works via your mobile browser's print function — use "Share → Print" on iOS or the browser menu on Android.
Currently, you can print or use your browser's "Save as PDF" option to store the puzzle. Re-generating with the same word list creates a different layout each time. We recommend saving the PDF immediately after generating your preferred layout.
